I've been watching Zatoichi online for a while now. It's amazing, seriously impressive in the quality of acting and story within such a limited format. I am struck again and again by how complicated and sympathetic Ichi is. Unlike the typical blind savant archetype (Daredevil is a great example), Ichi is a sad and lonely figure. He confesses that his blindness makes him afraid, all the time. He is constantly made to suffer ridicule and social stigma for his disability, and you can see that it sometimes really hurts him.

Anyway, great show, great action and character.

zatoichi is very very good
i first watch it when i live in japan
with no subtitle at all , i did enjoy it
but some story were impossible to understand

i am watching it again now and i enjoy most of the
movie, but i am wondering if the tv serie will also be good

ive never favorited quicker in my intire life. shintaro katsu was a great man and the 26 movies and 100 or so episodes of the series are unbelievable. I have always been saddened by the remake overwhelming take over of the original movies. even though it is still a good movie.
