The Iron Knight of America by genesischant The Iron Knight of America by genesischant
Turn of the century Occult Hero Iron Man, aka Tony Stark.

For the interested:
The armor includes pieces from the Armor of Achilles, Weyland's Armor for Beowulf, the Kavacha (Armor of Karna), and the Shield of Lancelot. It is inscribed with many magical sigils and invested with spirits of the air and earth. The crystal that activates the armor draws its energy from Stark's own heart, which he had surgically (and mystically, of course) removed and sealed within.

His motto is 'Lux et Veritas', 'Light and Truth'.

Stark is a romantic in the truest sense and he sees himself as a modern St. George, battling dragons. Unfortunately, his bizarre crusade against evil has led to him being dubbed the "Iron Quixote" by many of the newspapers he doesn't have a controlling interest in.

He is a powerful Freemason of a very high degree, and a confirmed believer in the extra-medicinal effects of opium tincture.

I like how you chose not to go with the same sort of "steampunk-boiler automaton suit" that Iron Man is so often portrayed as when he is placed in a past-setting.

This is a very original, unique, and interesting approach to the idea.

Thank you!

One of the earliest decisions I made with this Marvel reimagining project was that I wanted to consciously get away from Steampunk.  I decided to set the project about 1900-1915, which was a time of great advancement and world turmoil, but technically after the Victorian age.  I also wanted to draw from period occultist theory, spiritualism, and legend to explain the supernatural abilities of my heroes and villains-- an appropriate counterpart to the radiation, chemicals, and genetics that inspired the early Marvel characters.
