Turn of the century Occult hero Daredevil.

Matthew Marduk, Esq. is one of the sharpest of London's barristers, but he hides a terrible secret. He is none other than Whitechapel's own Daring Devil, who stalks the streets at night, dealing out deadly punishment to the criminal cancer that plagues fair Albion!

Young Matthew grew up a blind and sickly child among the squalid tenements of Whitechapel. His father was a boxer on the London circuit, struggling to keep his son fed. When his father was killed in a thrown fight gone bad, Matthew appealed to all the forces of the cosmos to help him right this wrong. A demon of vengeance replied and offered a bargain: he would be compelled to kill again and again, and in exchange the demon would give him three magical devices.

The Lenses of Truth would allow him to see the world through its spiritual energies, as long as he remained Truthful. The Rod of Justice would smite the wicked, so long as he was Just in his actions. The Amulet of Righteousness would protect him from evil, so long as his heart was Righteous.

And so struggles our hero against his darker nature, for he must kill only the deserving, lest he dissolve into a true monster!

I love Daredevil and I like a reinterpretation that's not just really the same thing but with some olde timey clothes thrown on. You've put a lot of thought into this and I love how it's come out.

This and "the Spider" are ridiculously, painfully cool. I think I like the Spider a little better, but seriously they are awesomely creative.

Now this is an interesting change of pace, especially since the somewhat foggy nature of these conditions calls for philosophizing and a good deal of care in his actions.
