After I read this comment I thought for sure I was going to find an example of a doorknob in Europe in SDL times, and that I'd explain it as wealthy Japanese eccentricity. Unfortunately, the earliest example of the circular doorknob I could find was in the 1700's. It would seem I've committed an unexplainable error! D^:
Unless, perhaps, Yuki-hime was the original inventor of the keyed cylinder screw-style axle doorknob...?
"What is this orb upon this door?" "A demonic eye that shall forever guard whatever lies beyond it with its ever watchful and unblinking stare?" "How does one open this door?" "It neither slides, nor is there a latch to open" "We are befuzzled."
Also, I never knew that circular doorknobs didn't come around until so late in history. We both learned something. Now we know.
I can't swear to the date! But Wikipedia was surprisingly tightlipped on the subject, so what can you do?
Great job. I'm happy to see more of your comic works. ^^
